Our Approach
Before landing on surveys as our first offering, our founder, an engineer, spent two years in the field conducting technology assessments, listening and learning from conservationists. This hands-on research was essential to understanding the challenges faced by those working to protect and manage natural resources and wildlife.
There are three major barriers preventing conservationists from leveraging advanced technology:
-
High impact tools are often out of conservation budgets.
-
Sophisticated tech is often too complex for non-experts to use effectively.
-
Technologies aren't being created considering conservation needs.
How CTA is circumventing these barriers:
-
By taking on the initial cost of the technology, CTA ensures that conservationists aren’t burdened with expensive, complex and time-consuming implementation processes.
-
We operate and maintain the solutions. Conservationists can focus on their mission without worrying about upkeep, maintenance, or technical hurdles.
-
We ensure that conservation is a priority in tech development. Leading tech doesn’t consider the needs of conservationists, but CTA intends to represent conservation amid new innovations.
